Hey feller’s,I need help to find a GE U-36B… Hav’nt seen any advertised any where… I think Bachman made them.
Would like to locate one… Appreciate any help in this. Thanks…
Hi Robert, yes Bachman did make a U-36-B, but they were of “toy-trainset quality”. I think your best bet is to modify an Athearn unit. Unless you want it correct right down to the last nut and bolt, this would be an easy kit-bash. I have been out of the active hobby for a few years now, but even if Athearn no longer sells these, you should be able to turn one up at a swap meet. I recall that they had a “U-33-B” that should give you a good start. If not, try “Railpower” shells. As I said, I’ve been out of the active hobby for a while, so my information might be somewhat “dated”.
Good luck. Todd C.
As close as I can see is the Athearn GE U33B and the GE U33C listed in the Walthers Reference Catalog.
Gee, we don’t get many modelers up here from the home of the Space Camp.
Hey guys thanks for the replys…
I have the shell for the U36B, but the insides are missing. I was hoping to find a U36 and put my shell on it… Do you suppose a U33 would work?? I’m not the most experienced at the hobby and I do apreciate good advice.
Charles, you sound like you are maybe a past “Huntsvillian” ??? It’s still beautiful country here’bouts… Ever come to visit? KIT
