Genesee Junction NY

Is anybody modeled Genessee Junction in NY? Seems like an interesting junction with 3 different railroads.

Nice job! I love info like this, and haven’t seen an old TT site since Manchester.

Recently I bought a Lehigh Valley book about Auburn. The existing brick roundhouse along 5&20 used to be almost a full circle!

Are you aware of any junctions in New York State that involved the New York Central. As I understand some were an overpass, I’d like a junction with a tower to add to my track plan.

You mean this one Terry?

More info about the Genesee Junction and Turn and other other Railroad information might be had by contacting the folks at the Rochester Chapter NRHS and the Rochester and Genesee Valley RR Museum. We have a lot of very knowledgeable folks there. http://www.rochnrhs.org/index.php

BTW Terry watch your mail… There is also the foundation of the old PRR Roundhouse in Canandaigua, NY.

Yep, that’s it. Thanks for the NMRA pamphlet. I plan on attending.

Since I’m planning an engine servicing terminal, I’ve been reading a lot about Turntables, etc. In Oneonta they had 2 TTs, a small/old one and newer/larger table, connected togther by one track. If only I had the space.

Port Jervis, NY still has their old TT pit at the terminus of the commuter line from New York. I’m guessing it belonged to the Erie. Unlike the one shown above, this one has not been overgrown with trees. The concrete floor seemed to be intact. It was fenced off so I couldn’t get a closer look.
