Over the last few years I’ve seen pics of locos belonging to various shortlines painted in G&W’s orange with black stripes. Even the closest shortline in my area, the Illinois and Midland, is part of G&W. G&W even has trackage in Australia! I think G&W is becoming the UP of shortlines. Resistance is futile. Your shortline will be assimilated!!! By now, G&W must have plenty of heritage shortline schemes:)

I believe that G&W has sold their Australian operation, but they have since bought an operation in Europe.
