George Bush 41 - UP 4141 at Pomona

I ran across the “George Bush 41” at Pomona CA this week and wanted to share a couple shots of it.

First we have a rolling roster shot.

Second is a shot of the whole train going by the classic Southern Pacific depot.

I tried to chase the train west, but it was moving too fast for Los Angeles traffic (and it also switched Subs on me, so I chased the wrong way anyway).

Great shots, thanks for sharing with us!

Thanks, Jim.

Fun shots…I can only imagine what number dubbya would have…and not 4343!

Great photos, but…

Perhaps it is just my monitor, but the blue on the locomotive appears faded or lighter than that on the plane. Have those of you that have seen it in person noticed that? I’ve seen other heritage locomotives up close, and they carry a notice that they were “painted by WSHR” (I think that must be Wisconsin Southern’s Horicon facility) using a specific DuPont paint. I would think if that degree of care was utilitzed, it would be highly fade resistant.
