Georgia museum to build $1 million research center
Will anyone ever be able to get to research or obtain a copy of anything, or will it turn into a repository. Like many, where nothing is ever seen again. In the past, doing southern railway research, numerous letters to the organization simply were never answered.

I’d be a lot happier if they used the money to get the “General” running again and built a loop of track to run it on. But hey, it’s their money, they did the grunt work raising it, so who am I to critisize?
I find it quite interesting that Kennesaw, GA is on the old
W&A Railroad, NC&St.L, L&N and now CSX and the main
theme seems to be on the Southern Railway. Did CSX take
interest this?
I remember quite well back in the 60’s when the one hundred
year lease was up on the W&A main line from Atlanta to
Chattanooga, Mr. D.W. Brosnan, President of the Southern
Railway put up quite a fight to get it from the L&N. The L&N
won and one of the concessions was giving the General to
the state of Georgia. The General’s home had been in
Chattanooga for many, many years.
