Is GE’s Two Speed Compressor a Dash 8 or Dash 9 addition?

I believe that started with the Dash 8s when they got the electric motor driven compressors.

I never did anything but EMD’s, I thought the two speed compressor was a thing of magic when I first heard & saw it.
