I’ve posted this info in the past but wanted to re-post it for the benefit of the newer guys to the forum.
Right now, Walther’s is having a sale on various structures, including their HO Scale American Hardware Supply kit. It retails for $50.00 but is on sale for $29.00. I discovered a couple of years ago that the back 1/4 of this building is actually what Walther’s sells as their 2" deep relief building called River City Textiles. So, in order to get 2 buildings out of this American Hardware Supply kit, all you need to do is cut the side walls one section from the back along the cement facade, add styrene for the back of each building, and you have 2 structures. Of course, American Hardware Supply ends up being a couple of inches narrower but it is very large to begin with.
I usually don’t build the backs of buildings if they’re not going to show. I save them for other purposes and replace them with sheet styrene.
