I’m amazed to receive the new, inaugural RMT ‘catalog’ in today’s mail (this from a fellow who’s requested / ordered such literature from the biggies with nary a response).
Anyway, good for Walter - I requested this via email prior to York and here we are scant weeks later with it in my hand. I swear it looks mimeographed - but 22 pages of bliss and there’s a flyer offering a few Beeps at a discount. Hope you got one too.
Definitely not the most elaborate catalog, but I welcomed it nevertheless and it was a good first effort.
I’m a big fan of the RMT toy train products, and have a ton of them. Waiting now for the BEEFs and passenger sets to arrive, since I have the B&O version on order. I was really hoping they would arrive this month, since I planned to make them a featured item on my Christmas layout, but will just have to try to exercise some patience, I guess.
If counting rivets is your thing, RMT is probably not for you. But if you have a small layout and/or like small, well-built, and affordable toy trains, RMT is a great choice.
I am on the edge of going conventional all they way…only have one tmcc locomotive and it is lionel/flyer everything else is conventional I guess RMT williams and POSTWAR are my best bets for rollingstock. I blame it on Frank and his influence and my lucky find at the thrift shop of a pair of texas special aa desiels.
He invited inquiries for the catalog via email on the OGR forum right around York. You may get one as a current / former customer but I emailed and requested one.
