Getting more traction from a 1055 Texas Special

I have an old 1055 (F3) Texas Special that would pull more of a load if I could weight down the Locomotive more. I can press down on it with a finger and it really takes off. Any tricks that you use to get more traction or add weight to an engine would be appreciated.

Thanks

It’s an Alco, not an F3. There should be a weight riveted to the rear of the body. Does yours have one there?

Some folks place weights on the metal frame to increase traction.
