Help: I have an older reefer from the early 80s that I need quite a few parts for. I’ve been to the LBGoA web site and was completely frustrated. Do any of you out there have advice on this. If the cost of the parts is going to be high I’ll make my own. I’d like to restore this reefer to original if possible.
Thanks for any help that comes along.
Paul,
You should call the LGB of America service department to inquire about the availability of the parts you need. (800)669-0607. Call extension 701 and ask for Joe Miceli.
Go to LGB’s website
http://www.lgboa.com/
Then click: “Downloads”
Then click: “Service parts ordering”
Then click: “Service parts drawings are available in the Products section.”
Put in the part number on the box (you did save the box didn’t you?) and it will give you a blow-up of the loco or car and you can get the part number and then make the call.
They will even look up an old one that is not available for download and email it to you.
Good luck.
Thanks Guys: The box was long gone when I got the car. It’s pre Berlin Wall coming down and no number on the car. I’ll pas the info along to my son on the calling… He did call LBGoA and bascally got told to go to the web site. We did and got nowhere. We’ll try gvdoblers way and see what happens. We’ll also try and call Joe Miceli.
Can you describe the car giving color and markings??
Piercedan: The car is a Reefer, yellow with black roof. The markings are white D&RGW. The car is old and in poor condition. It runs but the details are gone. Made in West Germany. If we can’t get parts we’ll make them but we’d like to bring it back to original if practical.
