GG1 Conventional Classic

Im forwarding this info and have learned that it is in the Country. Not sure if that is a “Pre-Production” piece, but it looks good.

Thank You for posting. It seems nobody cares on this forum. If it doesn’t help the Chief with his realtrax problem, than who cares?

I think there may be another post on this forum about this set.

BTW I like the set and want one BAD now So, I care [:)]

I want the Virginian FM, the 2340 and the 2332 set!

Now if only they had the right E unit so you could run them with old trains !

Man, that’s sharp - thanks for sharing!

Ogauge…Good memory!!! (That is what happens when you drink that Wabash River water. [swg])

I care, and have one on order, I did not post here as I had already seen it on the other forum.

We all care. And we care for you. Sorry if we have stepped around you on something.

Nice to meet you “Chief” and everyone else. Thanks for the nice replies. I to have the GG1 Set, plus the Madison Observation car, the FM “Virginian”. I guess Lionel wanted this to be a “January Surprise”. Sure is a nice one.

How on Earth can someone get the grumpies over a posting about a new set?

Its gonna be a long year …

We are glad to have you. Sure hope you have a great time with that train. Always good to see someone get a surprise from the manufacturers.

Agreed Bob, not sure where that one came from, but regarding the topic of the thread, I would love to get the GG1 set. I have been working on the entire 1949 catalog and the originals that I have found have been, shall we say, “less than show worthy”.

It seems to me there a lot of people who’s subject gets a lot of attention and some slip by be it posting mid day when a lot not on or what.

As for MTH switches if you really took notice you would see a lot have been making comments on them as they all have been having some problem with them .

Feel sorry for you and the way you feel I guess you needed someone to lash out on. It sure looks that way. Hope your having a better day

That is a nice looking train set. I tried to get more information about it by going to lionel.com.

I could not find it there. What am I doing wrong?

its set 31777 and is in the volume II 2008 Lionel catalog. What info are you looking for?

Is this what you are looking for?

Well, this is awkward… First. let me apologize for my post. Second, that wasn’t the post I was intending to send!!!

Sunday, when this post was written, I had some time to read the forums (I don’t read them everyday, just when I have time and feel like it.), and was reading on a different forum about the repro. postwar GG 1 set, over and over again. I’m sure it’s a nice set, and am glad people are enjoying them. Anyway I came across the Realtrax post, and read it. Having spent part of the day trying to “fix” some Atlas switches, I found others having problems with their switches, so felt I was in good company.

To make a long story even longer, My post is missing two smiley’s and another sentence!!! As I was writing the post, work called and I had to go in, and in my haste, I must have hit “POST” instead of the red X,… and the rest is history.

I’m not grumpy, I have nothing against anyone on the forum, nothing against realtrax switches, nothing against GG 1 sets, or baby’s, or kitty cats.

I wasn’t planning on having to go to work that afternoon, and in my haste, clicked on the wrong thing. I would like to say that I’m sorry to everyone on the forum, and I’m sorry I hi-jacked this thread. Reading my previous posts, I don’t think I have ever attacked this forum or any member here. I’ve been negative about some products, but never to individuals. I’ve gotten some good advice from this forum, and hope I have given some in return.

Really, I hope Chief gets his switches working (I feel in my post I singled him out), and everyone else does too, and I hope everyone that has a new GG 1 set is happy with them.

What I am hoping for is that Lionel comes out with a 726 in their conventional classics series. That would be SWEEEEET!!! I am shure glad I have one of the original 726’s.

mp, don’t worry about it, your a great person, For my part, I didn’t take it seriously and was just poking fun at it a little, so I’ll appologize if that wasn’t right too. I am pretty guilty of not proof reading my posts or getting interupted as you were, so I think thats probably pretty
