GG1 Sound decoder?

Are there any good options for a GG1 sound decoder?

LokSound has sound files for many different European electric locomotives, which may be ‘close enough’ to represent a GG1.

If you’ve ever been up close and personal to a real GG1 to know what it sounds like, you could listen to the various European electric samples to see if one of them would suffice.

They may even have sound files for Amtrak electric locomotives used on the NE Corridor that could be used.

The horn would be the only real clinker, but LokSound V4.0 decoders are fully programmable and can have different sounds downloaded into them if you purchase the LokProgrammer and can find a proper horn sound file.

ESU has a soundproject for the GG1, but it is for Loksound V3.5, number 82469.

V3.5 projects can be converted to V4.

V3.5 can be converted? How?

Sorry, was a bit to quick there, thought i had seen that in Lokprogrammer.

But you can regrettably not do it that way.

Still there is a GG1 project for V3.5.

Yes, you can. I just tried it. I downloaded the v3.5 GG1 sound project, and then in Lokprogrammer 4, I selected Import, and opened up the GG1 file, which it converted into a v4 file.

YES! I knew I’ve seen that somewhere… Thank you.
