I built and painted a GHQ tractor kit last night.
Really nice kit and pretty easy to build and paint. Probably the toughest part was painting the figure.

Nice job on the tractor! I built the GHQ Ford tractor and the forklift and they turned out really nice, very little flash to clean and the parts fit really well. I am building the manure spreader now and plan on getting more of these kits. I wish all the figures that are available were as nice as the ones that come with the GHQ kits.

Matt:
Nice job on the tractor and figure. Your hands must be a lot steadier then mine! I have a very hard time getting details like the overall shoulder straps and the silver rims to look as crisp as yours do.
I have a few small suggestions: That tractor is way too clean! How about a gentle application of a black wash to create some shadows in the grill and little grease staining around the engine? Also, take your black sharpie and touch the top of the exhaust stack, and maybe dry brush some light brown on the tire treads. I am not trying to detract from your excellant work, and I do not profess to be an expert at weathering, and hey - if the tractor just came off the flat car at your team track then it is perfect the way it is.

Thanks guys.
Dave, you’re right it needs weathering. I just didn’t get to that step yet. I wanted the body paint to fully dry before weathering it. For weathering I like to use chalk.
Please post pics of the finished product.

I added a cart to load oranges and some light weathering to both the cart and the tractor. The cart is also by GHQ, #60012 Hay Wagon. I cut some of the side stakes off so it was the right height for orange crates. Still got to flock those trees.
