Glasgow 1245

We (my youngest daughter ) and I have decided to scratchbuild a model of Glasgow (Scotland) tramcar No1245.With the on going argument in the garden about who is running what,we have decided to ‘run what you build’.
She has decided on this tram (e.g. do what you like boys, dad and I are going to run some trams!).

This is one of my favourite trams due to the asymetrical shape and the beautiful colour scheme. So far she has done really well ,with limited 'after bedtime’damage control. She is a girl on a mission.I have a sneaky suspicion that I’m going to ‘have to ask’ before I play.

This is going to be a quick build. The boys are making their choices, and they are not tram related.
This is what we are trying to achieve-

Check out the ‘Doctor Who’ police box

Spring is in the air—

The boys say 'stand by for the ‘Deltic diesel’

Very nice Troy,

you better watch out she might start teaching you things [(-D]

Later,
Jack

Troy , Building with the little one’s adds a new dimension doesn’t it[;)] Unforunately my Mogul build doesn’t have alot a 8 year old can work on. I will have mine help with the Cab.

Troy
That is wonderful work, especially for a child under ten. She may lose the modelling bug but the skills you are teaching her will probably be put to use later in life - perhaps for building toys or doll houses.
Bob
P.S. Did I get the age right this time?

Hi troy
Don’t be too sure she will give up the model making
Remember we do have a couple of the girls on this forum and they put some of us to shame where model making is concerned.
Don’t tell your daughter I don’t like the colour[:D]
But if it is to be lilac see if the cream centre stripes can be put in that will improve the look no end.
Looks like you are going to have competition for trackage rights.
regards John

You are right John.It is good to see the girls doing hobbies.
The colour scheme will be the same as the prototype. That’s just a sealer/undercoat at the moment.I’ve spent most of the evening with her trying to sort out the upper windows. It ended up with me cutting, and her glueing.
Bob-dead right this time.6 years.Photos of the top deck tomorrow.
Troy

Start building your own track Troy, might as well admit defeat gracefully and give ‘em what you have already got. They will probably let you have a 4’ circle somewhere!! Nice tram.
Cheers,
Kim
