Glue for Wood Models

I have always used Ambroid Se-Cur-It for my laser cut kits. I had a pretty good stock but am running low and cannot locate it anywhere. It looks like they may be out of business?

Can anyone recommend a good substitute. I have tried other wood glues but nothing works as well as this. It’s white and about the consistency of elmers school glue but sets up quickly.

Thanks!

I’ve switched over entirely to Canopy glue. It’s white, dries clear, sets-up quickly, secures wood as well as dissimilar materials like plastic and metal, and can be used to make window glass in the smaller scales.

I assume you are referring to something similar to this:

EXACTLY!

I have had great luck with carpenter’s glue. Elmer’s makes a version of it. It is yellow in appearance but dries clear. I apply it with the tip of my index finger to avoid glue seeping out of the seams when I join pieces together.

I use Titebond III with very good results. Titebond III sets up slower than Titebond II (10 minutes vs 5 minutes) and both are waterproof, a plus if you need to weather with washes post assembly. Been building wooden models for the past several years using this glue and I’ve found no reason to try anything else.
