Since I started this layout Ive been looking very closely at my work.
While examining some of the boxcars i built a couple of years ago I noticed some unattractive glue spots around the doors of the boxcars.
Is there a way i can make these less noticeable? Through weathering or another method?
Any help is greatly appreciated. [|)]
Build new boxcars!
Any chance of removing the glue on boxcars just isn’t worth the effort (solvents would ruin the plastic car sides). Bite the bullet and buy some assembled boxcars, and use the time you would have spent on the “spotted” cars to weather the assembled cars.
Try and kill the shine on the glue with dullcoat or paint. It will help some.
I’d buy new box cars. Otherwise, maybe dark chalk?[?]
Weathering hides 1000 modelling sins. Even advanced modelers make mistakes, and it’s usually simpler to hide them with a little artistic weathering than it is to strip the model and start over.
