"Gluing" Pink Foam to Plywood Question....

Can I use liquid nails to do this, or is there something better to use such as latex caulk??? Thanks!!

I used liquid nails, and I don’t have any complaints here. Very good product in my opinion.

[#ditto] I’ve used liquid nails a lot for this and it works very well.

If I’m trying to cover a large area, I use Titebond II wood glue, thinned down so I can use a short nap roller to apply the glue. It covers quickly and dries pretty fast…I have a large supply of old Walthers catalogs that I use as dead weight to hold the foam in place until it dries.

It sounds as if the Liquid Nails route is good to go. I will hold on to the Titebond idea for later. I already have Liquid Nails readily available. Thanks for all input!!

Latex caulk will work just as well and save a couple of bucks. To be truthful, it will not work any better. Any water based glue will work, so if you have a bunch of something, use it. You don’t have to glue every square inch. Beads will work.

I used plain old white glue. WalMart put a lot on clearance at ten cents per bottle. Bought two bucks worth. No problems with it holding.

Be careful with Liquid Nails. There are a variety of different formulations in the brand, and some of them are decidedly “not good” for foam. There is also a formulation made specifically for working with foam, that’s the one you want.

Latex caulk is another good choice.

I have a bit of white glue hanging around as a matter of fact. I did not realize that was an option as well. Whatever is cheap, easy and effective is good enough for me.

If you’re going to use Liquid Nails. The one you want is Foamboard & Projects Adhesive (LN-604).

Has anyone tried using moisture curing polyurethane adhesives like Gorilla glue? Since the glue is polyurethane shouldn’t it work without dissolving the foam?
