Gluing Plastic To Wood

Hi All!

I am adding a bridge model to my liftout and want to glue it to the wood. what should I use for glue to get the plastic to stay well bonded to the wood liftout?

Thank You

Duane

Weldwood contact cement.

I’ve had good luck with Weldbond.

What about super glue?

My wife introduced me to a crafters glue about 8 years ago and now I use it for everything, Amazing Goop. I haven found anything it won’t stick to.

My main use for Goop is for remotoring locomotives, works great for absorbing vibration and sound. I has some give to it without breaking loose. It can be messy as it’s very stringy if not handled properly. I guess the thing I like the about it the most is even though it’s super strong it can be removed using a #11 blade and long nose pliers.

I’ve used it in huge gobs to glue can motors to metal and plastic locomotives without any problems.

Extra Thick Maxi-Cure Cyanoacrylate worked really, really good. My bridge is on there pretty tight. Thanks for the super glue idea, and it was something that I already had.
