I expect you are referring to beaded white Styrofoam. What little I have done with it, it is messy to work with if you plan to carve it much. It doesn’t get many recommendations here. If you are just using it for “fill”, it should work OK.
I use inexpensive latex caulk for my foam to anything jobs, thus far no failures over 5 or more years. Always check to make sure what you are going to purchase is foam compatible. Liquid Nails for Projects is often recommended, but I found out that there are two types, one for foam, the other not.

PL300 is great bonding foam to whatever. DAP Alex Plus should also do a good job. In any case, do place a wavy bead of the stuff in parallel rows, and then smear it well, but not sliding the masonite or the foam…you’ll be sweating inside of a few seconds. Use a spatula.
