Hello. Need help with the proper color for the GN. ore car trucks.This is for the non taconite/non Michigan cars.If it is not black(hoping not) then what color paint would closest match? thanks, Bob

They should be ‘Mineral Red’ just like the carbody. The lettering is white. After a few trips, the iron ore tones down everything!

Thanks for the info, Jim. I have Pollyscale min. red #4350 and #4352 lt. freight red to use.Will it adhere to the trucks without flaking/chipping after a period of time or is there an intermediate step? I’m not yet set-up to airbrush but I understand I could brush on directly. Any thoughts will be most helpful. Thanks , Bob

Whenever possible I use Tamiya spray cans rather than spray painting. If nothing else, their primer gray would be a good thing to spray on first before brush painting over it. You probably will find a dark red or brown color pretty close to the color you need in a spray can. The Tamiya goes on much smoother than the “old style” cans from other companies.
