Go Board

John Manville… Go Board. Workers were just bringing some into the building for building a new bathroom. As a construction material it is supposed to take the place of plaster board for wall construction since it will hold the tiles and the tiles will not pull the paper off of it. It is waterproff and can be cut with an Exacto knife.

Ok So much for what they were doing with it.

One look told me, YES! This is PERFECT for building a model railroad. It is only 1/2 inch thick but rigid, light weight, easy to cut, will hold nails and will span your table grid without problem.

If my railroad wasn’t finished, I’d rush out and get some. Availabe at Menards, and probably other big box house stores.

ROAR

It is always a good idea to keep an eye out for new materials for model construction. I see GoBoard is also available in 1/4" that makes me wonder if it could be used for roadbed.

I’ll have to look for it next time I’m out and about…

I wonder if J-M would send a sample???

Thanks for the Paws-Up, Lion!

Yes, indeed. Thank you Lion. RAWR!

I haven’t laid hands on Go board and it’s hard to get a feel for the stuff from JM’s website. I initially thought we had a new brand of Denshield here, but this is something else. I’m picturing a denser version of blue (or pink) foam insulation. How far off base am I with that Lion?
