Going Away Glint

With a recent sunny day break in the rain we’ve been “enjoying” in the Puget Sound Area, I moved my mobile office to the hill in Steilacoom above the tracks and took in the parade of trains while I worked.

Nearing sunset, a southbound rolled through at just the right time to catch the setting sun.

Hope you like the image.

Oh, I do! I do!

Why they didn’t include some of the Forum folks in their biweekly photo contest, I’ll never know!

Cool shot. Wish I’d seen any trains at Steilacoom when I was there.

I like the consistency of the “texture” of the train. A mixed manifest wouldn’t have had the same effect.

Great shot, Steve!

There’s enough power there to run four separate trains…[:O]

Really nice shot!! Thanks for posting it. You ought to consider submitting it to Trains Magazine for their “Gallery” section.

Ed

Amazing shot! Nicely done!

‘’+1’’ to what they said above. ^^^ What more can I say ?

Well, OK, here goes - It’s almost a ''black

Thanks for the nice comments!

To answer your question Paul, the color is pretty much unaltered, a minor amount of saturation through a Photoshop Plug-in called Velvia Vision. In this case, the plug-in didn’t affect the overall tone of the image much, at least with the settings I use as a default.
