I have received a notice from a retailer that golden gate depo is coming out with sleeper cars in O scale and inviting me to consider a purchase. I have done successful business with this retailer before so no problem there. Just wondering if anybody has experience with golden gate passenger cars. Thanks.
I am responding to myself here it appears. I did look up Golden Gate on the web and there is a site you can get doing a google. The cars are brass, very detailed, can be 2 rail or 3 rail, and are quite expensive.
Mickey, I think you are wrong. These coaches are plastic. They had them on display at York, they are very nice but plastic. They do require 054 curves to run them.
John, I reviewed my research and I think you are correct. I think the company may make some brass cars, but I think the sleepers indeed do have plastic bodies from the description. I just did not read the description well. By the way, what was your opinion of the cars and the trucks in particular?
They are very nice cars, the trucks looked good to me. Unfortunately I can not run them as my main line has some 042 curves.
Bob Thatcher has them on his web site for a lot less than list price.
Many thanks John.
Very well done cars. They are plastic models with details added. I’ve the P-70 cars and they look lots better than MTH, Lionel or K-Line.
