Good hobby shops and train viewing spots near Savannah, GA

I will be visiting relatives near Savannah, GA (Richmond Hill) the latter part of this week and wondered if anyone knows of good hobby shops in the area as well as good train-viewing spots within a few miles drive.

Bull Street Station in Savannah is worth a stop.

It’s not a large shop, but it is reasonably well stocked. When my Dad lived on Hilton Head, he shopped there exclusively. I stopped by last summer and was well received.

Hello John,

Along with bull st station hobby shop. There is also another hobby shop in Savannah called second chance trains in Pooler,GA still in the city limits. He has very weird hours Monday through Friday 4 PM to 6PM.

Also be sure to check out the Roundhouse railroad museum not far from bull St station. Just ask for directions from the folks at bull St. Other than these railroad sight seeing is pretty dead in Savannah.

Hope this helps…

Bull St Station was one of the friendliest shops I have ever visited. Not only do they have a decent selection of trains, if your spouse is into art they have a good supply of art supplies.

It has been a few years since we went to Savannah, but when we were there the owner had a little dog named Miss Fezziwinkle, and she was as big an attraction as the trains 9I was missing my little punkin’)

Have a great time in a really neat town…
