You could start by searching hobbyretailer.com .
Also you can look in the back of old Model Railroaders, and do a Google search for hobby stores in your area.
Hope this helps,
Acela
Go to the light gray line at the top of this page, click on RESOURCES, then Hobby Shops. Fill in your zip code and milage or just fill in the state, then search. They certainly aren’t all listed there, but it’s a start. Good hobby shops that have a knowledgeable train staff seem to be getting harder and harder to find.
Good luck,
Richard
This is true.
In my area each major town had a hobby shop which had some model train items. In the last 5 years 6 hobby shops have closed and two changed from hobby shops with come craft items to craft stores with little or no model railroad items.
The hobby shop owners I talked to indicated that there is far more interest in rc vehicles or RC planes. Model railroad items just became too expensive to carry when there is a falling interest.
Also, mentioned was that prices were too high.
Good Morning Nate,
For an excellent train store in Georgia, go to Trainmaster Models in Buford. Large store and inventory in N, HO and O scales. Excellent selection on new and used items. Knowledgeable staff and great customer service. If you hurry they are running their Spring sale through April 29th. Check their website www.trainmastermodels.com
Good Luck
