I am about to paint an HO passenger coach I will use a spray primer. What will be the best method of applying primer to a resin shell body?
The very best way to apply any paint in a nice thin layer is with an airbrush. If you don’t have one, then a spray can may be your best bet. Be sure to wash the shell in warm soapy water (dis detergent), rinse it well and let it ai dry. Do not touch the surface to be painted with your fingers after. If using a spray can, use it with very light passes, many of them, instead of one heavy coat. I’ve been using some cheap spray can primer from Wal-Mart just recently to do some larger models that I didn’t want to bother to spray with my airbrush. Dries nice and flat and pretty quickly too.
