hey everyone… basically what I’m wondering is if anyone knows any good sources to find older Atlas engines, from past production runs. Specifically, I’m looking for a D&RGW GP40 from the August 2005 production run.
The Atlas item numbers are 9731, 9732, and 9733, road #'s 3082, 3084 and no #, respectively.
The only place I know to get old Atlas stuff is Amherst Depot, but they don’t even have this specific production run listed on their site anywhere. I found one internet store selling 9731, but when I emailed them to make sure they had it before I paid them, they told me it was a mistake that should have been removed a while ago.
And don’t tell me eBay, because I pour over that every night anyway… lol. So yeah… if anyone knows any local hobby shops that might have these or anything, that would be SO helpful, or even if YOU have one that you would be willing to part ways with somehow… because this production run seems non-existant, anywhere, on the internet. I’ve found stuff from every other run, but not this one.
So yeah, Atlas D&RGW GP40 from the August '05 run. Please help!!!
Here is a tip for eBay searches. When you do a search, enter the manufacturer, type of loco, road name and the road numbers. Save the search and opt to have an e-mail sent to you when someone puts the item up for sale. It saves a lot of wasted time searching through listings.
Ok, this is not to do with your atlas GP40, but I do have an older run Atlas GP40 in CP colours from a local hobby shop in Vancouver, B.C. Canada (just to let you know). Actually, for older runs, places like Canada and small, local hobby shops are (I think) the best places for older runs as they get shipped later or retain the older stock for people like you and me, and specificaly because they cant afford the new stuff (JUST MY OPINION).
