I went to the LHS today and picked up a Kato ALCO RSC-2, an Athearn PB-2, a Santa Fe Canadian grain hopper, a 3-quart bag of dark green lichen, 4 bags of fine gray talus and 2 bags of WS fine turf (1 weeds and 1 burnt grass). Total cost $186.14
I got the two locos 30% off! How’s that for some dealing.
Way to go, Jeff![8D][tup] Good to read that you got a discount on those locomotives. There have been threads posted where modelers complain that their LHS rarely gives discounts, however they forget that many hobby shops are in “belt tightening” mode due to competition from web based dealers.
yep, my LHS usually discounts only 10% off MSRP, with two annual sales double that–I’ve bought a few small things from them, but there usual cost is just too high–congrats on your deal!!

Way to go Jeff. I don’t see why people complain about there LHS ours(This isn’t an In your face coment)puts ten percent cupons in the paper, and usually reduces prices.
A good LHS will try to work with you. If they can make you happy, you’ll go out and tell others about the place.
