Googlemap images?

This is possibly a daft question but can anyone tell me a way to print off the pictures I find on Google map… and Bing as well please?

or do I have to subscribe?

Thanks

Well… Google maps has a print button but only allows printing of street maps, not satellite. Bing also has a print button but only allows printing of street and aerial maps, not birds-eye. If you want to print the other views there’s always the ‘Print Screen’ button on your keyboard (PC). Hit it while you are looking at the view you want, open your image editing program (mspaint works fine) and paste the screen shot (Ctrl+V). You can cut out the rest of the screen from your shot if you want, then print. Sorry it’s not a simple one step process, but it’s the easiest way I can think of.

X 2…

This is exactly what I have does to get images from Google maps / Earth.

I use paint to cut what I want, then paste into MS Word for printing. I have Office 2003 and it makes it quite easy to resize and play with the cut & pasted image prior to printing.

Dave,

I find Faststone capture to be the most convenient, because you can quickly capture just the browser page, crop, and save all from the same app. Version 5.3 was the last free edition.

Very easy.

Hit the Print Screen key. This will copy what is on the display to the PC Clip Board.

Open a photo application and paste this into it. Save to your PC.

I use Gimp, a free download Photo Application that I have been using for a few years.

You might have to crop the photo depending what is showing when you hit the Print Screen key.

For any Linux users, use a Screenshot application that comes with Linux.

Rich, I too use Gimp and after a long learning curve it is becoming easier to use. It is a very nice photo application program and the price is right—free. Wayne
