wus at a flemarket to day and got 4 Athearn blue box new-haven F7A super geared A@B for 10$ and a 2-10-2 santa fe type with powerdrive CNR #4100 for 10$ i call this a good day.all run good just had to do a little TLC. now how would i know the age of the engine?. thank you for the help.
Don’t know about the Athearn locos but the 2-10-2 is likely a Mehano that was produced for Super Stores and released in a trainset for Christmas 2006. If it is there is a stamp on the bottom saying it is made in Slovenia by Mehano. The set sold for around $100.

The Athearn F7 Supers were a fair deal. I once picked up four new undecorated Athearn F7 Supers (2 A and 2 B, all power) for $4 and I got a Presidents Choice trainset with a Mehano 2-10-2 FREE. Now that’s a steal!
