Got My August TRAINS Today

First article is about a Tokyo train station that handles 3.5 [edited to add: million] passengers each work day. Very interesting! - a.s.

My magazine came yesterday but I haven’t had time to read it yet…only scan it and remove the direct mail response cards…more opinion at a later time folks.

UPDATE: Yesterday while railfanning at Rochelle diamonds I managed to read most of this edition of TRAINS and especially enjoyed the article on the Kentucky rooming house, very touching reading. I am saving the big article on the UP moving the mountain until sometime today or later this week.

Not a great safety record on face value. [8)]

Crandell, the Courtenay station may handle 10 times as many on some days.

Boy that .5 fella must have a hard commute every day!

CopCarSS, you’re making assumptions. 5 times 0.7 also equals 3.5, so there might have been 5 of those 7/10ths fellows.

I worked with a few from Japan and they WERE shorter than most of us local guys. One was of different stock, Samurai probably, and he towered over me!

Statistically speaking, that is only about three and a half times as busy as a station serving only one passenger per day. (margin of error + or - 2.5)

headache coming…

That fella was .5 AFTER his boss tore him a new one !!![xx(]

I heard about that half guy. A very serious accident–he lost his left eye, his left ear, left shoulder, left arm, and left leg.

He’s all right now.

NICE!!! oh and i got mine yesterday

Now really, you accountants, I was only off by a factor of one million! [:O] [:I] [:O]

ONLY!!!LOL

…August TRAINS already…!

a major migraine!

A good friend of mine married a Japanese-American fella about 5 - 6 years ago. He stands six foot six and is seventh-generation Japanese. Nice guy, kinda conservative. Culturally more of a WASP than I am, though in my background I can legitimately claim English on one side and Scots-Irish on the other.

Animal protein, guys and gals, not necessarily genetic destiny.

I just have one question? WHERE IS MY AUGUST TRAINS!

PS Dont tell me Amtrak is bringing it.

Al - in - Stockton

No, Railway Express is bringing it. [}:)]

[(-D] But half the man he used to be. [(-D]

Haha I lived in Japan for a year and am 5’-8" which is a little below average over here, but over there I was an imposing figure in crowded elevators! I can’t wait to get my issue so I can read about the station. I used to travel through there quite a bit and it was not a trivial operation to figure out which exit you wanted to go out of. Fortunately all of the exits and passageways in the Japanese train system are well marked. Jamie
