Got pics? Iowa Northern to run trains over old Rock line

Iowa northern is set to begin running trains over the old Rock Island line between Forest City and Belmond, Iowa on Nov 3. The plan is to serve elevators at Garner and Forest City; possibly the Winnebago Industries plant in Forest City as well. If anyone from that area has taken pictures, it would be of interest to the forum members. Especially myself as I used to leave in Garner in the '60’s and remember the Rock Island short local freights coming up from Belmond each day.

Nice series of pictures over on TrainOrders.com by Craig Williams. Also some commentary by Dan Sabin, President of the Railroad. Train consisted of two MP2000D locomotives sandwiching a GP38 with 36 empties, 35 grain hoppers and an autorack. Twenty five loaded hoppers were pulled earlier today,

BTW - to view more than thumbnails on TrainOrders.com you have to be a member.

The Iowa Northern group on Yahoo has also had alot of activity related to this lately, and Dan Sabin posts on there as well.
