Got Some Trains for Christmas

Hello everyone.

I hope everyone had a nice christmas.

A very rare thing happened this year. Every year for years I have asked for train stuff for christmas. And every year I would get “practical gifts” like socks underwear. Tools for my car, ect. However this year, with me staying at my aunt’s house, while I work a new job until I can find my own place. (Housing market in the area is tight) Her, my cousine, and my grandma pooled together and baught me a steam locomotive for christmas. Its an IHC 2-8-2 in Great Northern. (Just happens to be the RR I model) and Now they expect me to set up my train layout as soon as possible so they can see it run. Can’t say that I blame them.

Then on my way home to my parents house for new years, I stopped at my place in Shoshoni, and picked up the mail, THere was note from the post office that I had to pick up a parcel and what should it be but a box from Train World. It took me forever to figure out what I had gotten from Trainworld as I havn’t ordered anything from them in ages. I got to my parents house and opened and what should I find except a brand new Mantua Classics 2-6-6-2 in GN. I had ordered it along with some Proto-1000 F-3s back when I graduated college. However since the 2-6-6-2 was only announced It was back ordered and I forgot about it. So it in essance was just like a christmas present as in it was a pleasent surprise. I will conduct a review of it soon and post it so everyone can get the lowdown on it.

James

I’m happy for you, James. All good things come to he who waits.

Yep. Patience is a virtue. Someone else on this forum related a similar story - had forgotten about but finally received an item that had been backordered - two years later.

Good for you.

Regards,
