The Government Accountability Office is very, very partisan. Believe that? Then, if not, wake up. This project should have been DOA, as California is unable to pay for this project.

Government accountability??? What the heck is that???

Government accountability??? What the heck is that???

Actually, the GAO, formerly the Government Accounting Office, changed to Accountability Office under GW Bush is fairly well respected by both parties in Congress to do non-partisan work. This doesn’t mean they don’t respond to partisan questions such as this one, but their work has pretty consistently been acceptable to both parties.

And Mr. Benham, how many of the large infrastructure projects in New York are done without Federal assistance? Very few, I’d wager.

Take a look at Portland, OR’s. aerial tram! Liars quored prices of only one- quarter to one-third of the actual finish price and shoved the project down the voters throats, all the while knowing the true costs and amounts of their kickbacks at completion. " HI! - I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help you." Sound familiar, comrade? Corporate america is made up of cheats and thieves, and the government has the cream of the crop - watch out for gov’t. spending programs and keep a real tight reign on your pocketbook,

How many freeways in California pay for themselves? California has critical congestion that needs to be addressed and high-speed rail is an excellent way to address it. A large portion of our taxes and GDP go to supporting the petroleum-based economy. Energy security will only come from diversifying sources of energy, developing cleaner forms of energy, and improving conservation of energy. High speed rail does all of these things plus creates jobs. It is an excellent investment of tax money.

Yup, Mr. Peter Benham just like the federal highway trust fund, broke!

When there’s a snowstorm in Washington, are GAO workers considered “non-essential”? I like trains, but this is the biggest fraud yet. Gov. Moonbeam (Jerry Brown) needs to spend more time on the CA Prison system, but only as a resident.
