Does anybody know any CV’s or programing numbers that would make a Bachmann Dcc on board Gp-40 run smoother? It performs poorly at low speeds.
There’s been a post recently asking why Bachmann locos are called junk. http://www.trains.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=64029
One suggestion by Railroading_Brit is the decoder does not have Back-EMF which would be an improvement for low speeds.
Like dingoix said in your other thread about the same problem a lack of a flywheel doesn’t help low speeds.
You might want to upgrade the decoder.
It’s nearly impossible to get something w/o flywheels to run slow. The decoder is a possible problem, but it still won’t run great without flywheels.
Me, I wouldn’t ever touch anything that doesn’t have flywheels.
Just my [2c]
Without replacing the decoder, there is no way. And just a decoder replacement, may or may not satisfy you. If you want to try it, I’d suggest a Lenz Gold, which has back-emf and high frequency drive.
