They are noisy, everything inside rattles, and what doesn’t rattle has already fallen off, they are slippery, ride rough, and just generally are yucky.
Of course, they are locomotives, so that makes them cool from the start.
I used to give my wife rides on my F40PH’s (and no, we hardly did anything kinky up there [although, there was that one time…]). Too bad she did not appreciate the noise level of the prime mover in constant run8.
Hey, whatever floats your boat. All’s fair in war, checkers, [censored], and [censored]!
I have taken some of my many, many girlfriends railfanning and they usually got very bored very quickly, except for (name withheld because she can whup my [censored] if I mention it!), who saw 765 along the Nickel Plate en route to Mudville, USA for a series of trips that year. BTW, Kel, I think you do not have access to this do you?[:-^]
Ok, of course I was just in a strange mood. But now… especially since it’s mostly off limits… I have to see if somehow I can get up into one of these things. But it’s gotta be a freight loco. None of that sissy passenger stuff (they might be clean). I wonder how I’m gonna do this! -I’m married anyway!
You know if I had a chance to pick up a girl in a locomotive it would have to be an SD70 or even an Amtrak Genis engine now those are my two chooses for picking a girl up.
Call me an oddball, but I’d be elated if my husband picked me up in a locomotive — ANY locomotive!
That said, I’m eternally grateful to one Randy Stahl for granting me access to my first locomotive cab: Wisconsin Central SD45 No. 7501, now retired. Randy, you’ve spoiled me.
However, I’m lined up for another cab ride later this month at the Indiana Rail Road. Maybe I’ll get to ride one of their SOO SD60s? Can’t wait!!
