Which engine is it that looks like a GP40 but with a longer nose?
Hmmmm…how many axels?
David B
The SD40 is the same as a GP40 but longer with 6 axles. It came in a snoot (102") nose version.
If its 4 axle, probably a GP20. If you’re speaking 6 axle, lot more choices.

this one, train and does Atlas or someone make one in DCC & sound?
That is an SD40-2 with a ‘snoot’ nose. Athearn makes a SD40-2’s with & without ‘snoots’, as well as the SD40T-2(tunnel motor). These were purchased by SP. The ‘snoot’ has a compartment for Locotrol/DPU radio equiment.
The Athearn model is in their ‘RTR’ line - it is ‘DCC Ready’. You will need to add your own sound decoder.
