GP9 schematic

I need a GP9 schematic. It seems as if I recall seeing one (fold out section) in a long ago Trains issue, but am not sure. If not a Geep 9, something similar would work, even a 38, 40, etc.

If anyone knows which issue that was in, I would appreciate it…or if there is one on a website somewhere.

Try this site Ed:

What do you need to know ? As I remember the print in the magazine was a running list / physical schematic, not good for trouble shooting.

Are you looking for a schematic or a scale drawing?

Scale drawing…poor choice of wording. A railroad customer wants us to design a paint/graphics scheme for a GP9 and I need something the designer can work off of.

Should be a lot of fun, I was near heaven today, surrounded by unturbocharged Geeps!

No covered wagons tho.

It seems to me that Trains had a huge diesel issue some time in the past and had foldout scale drawings…

Try getting ahold of a copy of: “Our GM Scrapbook” (Kalmbach)
It has some fold-out drawings in the back that might be helpful.
(F-7s,FP-7s,GP-7s,GP-30,etc.)

The June 1995 Trains has a centerfold drawing of a CRI&P GP7 in black.
It is 14.5" from coupler to coupler and 3.75" from the top to the rail. It is a straight on side view without any cutaway.

Somehow it should come as no surprize that you would have it for me! Thanks.

I knew I had seen it.

You’re welcome Ed.
Just keep asking questions, you and Murphy (and Gabe) make the forum interesting.

Thanks for the complement. It would be good to have Gabe come back home once in a while tho.

A schematic is an internal diagram useful for troubleshooting. Although it’s normally associated with electronics, they are also available for the hydraulic, air, and fuel systems.
