Boy it would have cool to see that. I wish I would have known I might have tried to get down there.
This is a perfect example of why Chicago is the city that works and every other large city, doesn’t work. Chicago farms out all the really difficult tasks to private business, and then takes the credit when private business does it right the first time. Private business allows this to happen. Let the politicians have big egos as long as the next contract arrives. If this was New York, the city would have taken 20 years to build the bridge, another 5 to move it, only to find out the bridge would not fit because it was built as a mirror image and scaled to 75% of full size. And then, like the GW Bridge, it would immediately rust apart and require continuous patching because junk steel was used and the bridge repairs are seen as a make work project. The really sad part is I can think of other recent examples of Chicago getting things done while New York is still trying to figure out which end is up.

All well and good for the railroads. The crossings still screw up traffic big time at ground level. I avoid the area when I work close by.
Jeffrey Guse, take your political diatribe elsewhere. It’s getting old.
Saw a TV news clip. Very impressive.
Walsh Construction, one of the best contractors in the good old USA, being bridges, airports, highways, railroad upgrades, etc. Always have the proper personel in the mix, and hire the best engineering companies for the job.
Please tell us this bridge was made with American Steel by Ameircan Steel workers and not imported !!!
Nice job on the install and design. Yes, Chicago has needed this and more grade separation for DECADES!!
