The cn-bnsf assault on the fledgling cp and their fe w train cars that flow thru this territory.

I was up to Northgate this past summer. After I visited the CP at Portal I decided to head over to Northgate. I had never been there before when I visited Portal in the past. I found that the interchange tracks at the border were covered with dirt. There appeared to be a small shipper of some sort on the Canadian side tho it appeared not to be active. Weeds covered the main line. The US side has a active grain facility and a interchange yard served by BNSF. I was fortunate to see and Video tape a BNSF train headed for Northgate, a good sized train and hot sunny weather. So happy to see it to be opened again and I will be there to see it when it happens.

The story does not indicate that the rail on the Canadian side will be open to a Canadian railway such as the Canadian National or Canadian Pacific. I think the Govt of Saskatchewan owns the track
