Is anyone else going to the parade of trains in Grand central station this weekend?
Eh? The have trains in a POST OFFICE?
Just in case you don’t get the joke - Grand Central TERMINAL is the correct name of the railroad facility. Grand Central STATION is the name of the nearby US Postal Service facility. In USPS lingo, a post office (like your local post office) is called a “station”.

WJSTIX is correct I believe Grand Central Station is either on the premises of Grand Central Terminal (which is where the trains are) or ajacent Anyway I have no intentions of visiting the Post Office unless its an RPO. [:D].
But Lion I am surprised you do not know about this as it is an MTA sponsered event.
Actually, the LION does know about it, but LION lives in North Dakota, so youse guys take the pictures, post them here, and I’ll swipe them for my wall paper.
ROAR
Will do and Happy National Train Day
Could we please not talk about Grand Central Station?
They torn down our beloved Grand Central Station here in Chicago in the 70s for no good reason and the property has sat idle and vacant for the past 40 years.
R.I.P.

As it happens one of the cars on display is an RPO from conneticut along with several pullmans of various vintages. Some cars from the 20th Century Limited there were a number of locos an NYC FA a gen set and a couple of Alcos. I’ll try to post some pics later. The Station was packed and there was not enough vendor/layout space for the MR Railroadmania area so I did not get to see it all. All and All a really great way to spend National Train Day.
