Grande Finale - Model Railroad Open House - Denver's Union Station - April 27th @ 7pm

Hello All,

Just a quick note to let everyone in the Denver area (as well as surrounding region) know that the Platte Valley & Western Model Railroad Club will be holding it’s “Grande Finale” open house on Friday, April 27th from 7pm to 9pm in the basement of Denver’s Union Station.

The PV&W will be (temporarily) closing it’s doors after almost 30 years due to construction related to the renovation of Denver’s Union Station. Tentative reopening is currently scheduled for the Summer of 2014 however that may slide due to the scope of the project.

The PV&W generally models the transition era of railroading however more recent equipment has been known to be displayed at open houses depending on the members present. Visitors are welcome and encouraged to ask questions and take pictures of the PV&W.

Please check the club’s website - www.PVWRR.org or Facebook page www.facebook.com/pvwrr for period updates on the progress of the construction project.

Thanks to all our visitors over the past years, we hope to see everyone in 2014!

Thanks,
The Members of the Platte Valley & Western Model Railroad Club

Too bad you have to close down for a while. At least you still have a place, once the construction is done.

Will members still be able to operate the layout or is it completely off limits? A lot of plastic cover spreading if the latter.

Grandson spent some time in CO, but came back home before I got to check the area out.

Good luck,

Being a Rio Grande fan having grow up out west (California) and made trips to Colorado to Aspen etc in the 80’s, I have always enjoyed watching Rio Grande models in action and hope to model it myself eventually (collecting rolling stock toward that end). I hope to see that some day!
