I am fairly new to model railroading. I bought a partial completed HO layout that was built under Atlas Track plan 28; The Granite Gorge and Northern. I was wondering have any of you built this particular layout and if so have any pictures to share. Just trying to get a idea of how I could model my scenery, roads, structures. This is a pretty complex (at least to a beginner like me! Lol)
I am not modeling the Granite Gorge and Northern, but perhaps aw photos of my layout will be helpful. Click on the photo to enlarge it. Then, click on the arrows to move to Next or Previous photos.
“The John Armstrong book Track Planning For Realistic Operation (available on this site) has a modified version of the GG&N that with more offers more operating potenional. The main change is that it adds reverse loops so is a little more complicated to wire. The benchwork is unchanged”
Thanks for the info, yea I did see that but think I’m going to stay where I already am. Since I’m new don’t want to further complicate things as I also have very little experience with wiring and am going to have someone help me wire this thing back together again. Do you know how to upload pics? As I can upload some pics of my layout for all to see? When I click on the insert image icon, I’m confused as where to go from there?
LION cannot help you with the wiring, he makes wiring far too complicated, and then claims it was easy.
As for posting a picture, you cannot load it directly to the forum, you first need to upload it so a website that hosts pictures, Picasa or Flickr are good choices (I think). Once it is there, they will give you a URL to paste in the box when you click on the “Insert Image” Icon.
LIONS are exempt from that nonsense, him runs his own servers. you know: Broadwaylion.com
