I’m looking for some great websites where people post photos of their various layouts. Any ideas? O, S, Standard and G all fine with me.

Forrest et al.,
Very nice photos and histories. Wow! Quite a large bunch of incentives to keep going forward with the 8’ by 13’ in the family room. Thanks.

Thanks for all of the great sites. Keep 'em coming. As a newcomer to the hobby, these sites provide me with the inspiration I need to keep learning the craft.

spankybird, fjerome. Great jobs. Your layouts are so nice, though, I’m almost (actually I am) intimidated as to whether I can do this. My plan is to read, ask a lot of questions, jump in, and get after it. I plan to make a lot of mistakes and ruin a few pieces of track and plywood along the way. Along the way, I plan to educate myself on how to do it. Is that an acceptable plan or is that too cavalier? Is that how you guys started?
dan, i had built two previous layouts and had watched my father build two. regardless of experience, mistakes can be counted on. i had to rebuild one part of the layout twice and ripped out one of the curved switches because it was too problematic. are their things i would have done differently…yes. primarily, a longer lead out from the main (winter park) yard; switching operations too often intrude on the main line.
Thanks a bunch, Tom…I’m drooling as usual![:p]
AS the old quote goes
“Doing is Learning and Learning is by Doing”
Jump in and start building it. If it doesn’t turn out as you wanted, then time for urban renew and rebuild that part of it.
I have a few small areas that I am planing on doing just that. Yes, it’s true, they are never done. You just get to a point that you can run the trains.
BTW - thanks guys.
