Great new HO Carloads available - EasyFit

Hey!

I’m not sure if any of you have seen these in stores yet, but I picked up a bunch online myself and absolutely love the things. I picked up some Athearn 34’ coal loads. They work and look great! The company’s new and still difficult to find in stores. They’ve got a website though ( http://www.jwdpremiumproducts.com ), ant they’ve got a pretty extensive line going already. We’ve got a definite winner, I’d say. I absolutely recommend these.

Cheers!
Dave

They are rather expensive. You get a 2 pack for $6.99. An example is the Accurail coal loads. You can get a 12 piece coal load from Accurail for $11.98 and they come with steal balls that attach under the load so it can be removed with a magnet without removing the car from the track.

I’m not sure these JWD Easy fit loads are such a good deal. Just my .02

Bill

The Accurail ones are certainly cheaper, but I find that they don’t look that good. The EasyFits look very real compared to the Accurail. Molded plastic versus cast resin are two totally different effects I find. Also, with Accurail, unless you are buying a huge number, the price isn’t that much different when you factor in the $8.00 magnet. Different perspectives, I guess, but I really think these are worth it. They also offer loads for cars that no one else does, which also makes a difference.

Cheers!

I used Chooch coal loads for my hoppers, they looked pretty good to my eye but were rather expensive.

I have 6 RTR athearn hoppers with generic loads that just dont shout “Coal” as the other loads do. I guess another hobby shop run is in order soon.

They look a little better than the Accurails. I used to use the prefabbed Accurail loads in my hoppers. Recently, I started using Woodland Scenic mine and lump coal instead. It may not be as easy to switch in and out as the Accurail loads, but it sure looks A LOT more realistic. (Actually, removing the coal is pretty easy. It’s the reloading that is more time intensive.) I’m going to stick with the loose coal loads from now on.

hmmm , new guy shows up , first post is basically an ad for a product .
makes me wonder where this guy works

if i’m wrong i appologize in advance

Yea, ye called it. A second look at the post reveals a pretty direct link similar to spam. Too bad I fell for it thinking about my recent coal load project.

I noticed, too, that no profile information is filled out to make the poster traceable.

I work for Houghton Mifflin Company publishing text books. Just thought I’d put a note out there for anyone interested in something new. Sorry if I offended you!

Thanks for clarifying your status – from the tone of your original message it appeared that you might be a salesman for the company that makes those loads. I had never heard of them or the company that makes them.

Sorry, I’m a little new to the idea of forums, so I wasn’t too concerned when registering that I might come across that way. Didn’t really occur to me, but now that you mention it, does seem a little funny. I was just excited to have found a load that I actually liked as I’ve never been quite satisfied, and usually end up glueing coal dust to the top of someone else’s load. I’ve been modeling since I was pre-teen but find that I don’t have nearly enough room living in the city as I need for what I want. I’ve got a coal-mining op that I’m pretty excited about, with about 100 hoppers, but I find that I barely have enough track to run a good turn.

Cheers!

I must say…Those carloads do look pretty good. And they even have Normal scaled ones. Too bad I’m not in the market at the moment for them…3 cast resin loads for $5.99…Not bad.
