Great railfanning luck AND a camera!

If you remember in February I had some great railfanning luck, but no camera. This past weekend (3/24-3/37) I was in the Chicago area for a wedding and got in some railfanning with spectacular luck and a higher-res digital camera than normal.

Shortly before the wedding my dad and I had some time to kill before the chapel opened so we headed over to the Naperville Amtrak/Metra station. In about a 45 minute period I saw 2 California Zephyrs (east and west), one Metra with a F40M-2 (I don’t normally get to see those since I’m normally fanning on the UP West line), and a BNSF freighter with a warbonnet. I do have some pictures for all of you…

Here is the Westbound Cal Zephyr meeting with an eastbound Metra.

This is me railfanning in my wedding clothes by the Westbound Cal Zephyr

Congrats on your great railfanning day.

I wish I could see the photos but all I get are red " X " s. [:(]

Thanks for trying to get us the pics but I also just get red x’s. By chance were you there on Saturday when the Eastbound Chief came through with no less than five BNSF business cars on the very rear end (after the MHC’s)?

Just Xs here too

You look awfully young to be married…
