Greeley Freight Station Museum model train layout - Klamath Falls Yard
just amazing! I sure would like to see a cab ride around the entire layout.
It’s not quite the Klamath Falls yard where I spent the past summer, but this is still a tremendous layout. When you produce a layout this beautiful you can be forgiven for liberties with the prototype.
Wonderful presentation. It is something one would like to see in person, especially as there is so much to see. The camera, as detailed as the videa displays, cannot capture the ambience one would experience being there to view this layout in person.
I lived just a couple of blocks from the location of this model RR and the Greeley UP depot when growing up and remember the last of UP and Colorado & Southern steam. I have just one question: Why did they choose to model Oregon here in Colorado?
There was plenty of interesting RR history locally to replicate of the Greeley/LaSalle/Eaton area, with three railroads that used steam into the late-1950s. On rare occasion, even Big boys and 4-12-2s could be seen through Greeley.
So why did they choose to model the woods of Oregon on the high plains of Colorado? A reasonably accurate model of “what used to be” in the area would have had some historic credibility.
No doubt this is an impressive model RR. Historically, however, it’s just another train set to most visitors, and has nothing to do with local heritage.

By far one of the best videos of a model railroad layout I have ever seen. The sounds, the scenary, the realistic consist and the passing sequence at the end all form a wonderful view of the magic of model railroading. Thank you for a great trip.

Your video of the model railroad at the greeley freight station museum is fantastic. 5 diesels at the head of a mixed freight and all running together was to much. good show that should have some modelers to aim higher
