BNSF Railfan.: " BNSF Q1 is heading to Spokane Track1"
Me (dispatcher): “Alright Q1, switches lined, and you will get the green soon.”
BNSF Q1 is occuping MAIN 1
Then, no one can use main 1 until BNSF Railfan says he has cleared, this would require a map (a made one, or offical), then you use the exact speed limit, and measuer the distance, caculate, and recive a arrival time. Things can pause the timer, like another train, or problem (derailment, “maintnace”.)
So,
BNSF Q1 WILL ARIVE ON SPOKANE TRACK1 AT 1:00PM
Dispatcher gives BNSF Railfan. a red signal due to maintnace, so he changes the arival time…
BNSF Q1 WILL NOW ARIVE AT SPOKANE TRACK1 AT 1:30 PM DUE TO TRACK MAINTNACE ON MAIN1
