Green Steam Engine?

Here’s one drawn out of the curiousity cabinet…I have never seen such a odd pistion arrangement…could this be coupled to a generator and scaled up?

I saw no mention of horsepower - a key consideration.

It would be quite the thing to see in action in a version large enough to fill the hood of a modern Diesel-electric.

The video on the website which shows it in motion suggests that it would be a maintenance nightmare, even if it’s scaled up only to truck size, much less railroad/marine/stationary size.

Watching how much motion that thing generates I’d be very hesitent to use it on anything mobile based. I suspect its actual range of use would be limited in a real world situation.

How slick is this ! ! ! and it seems to work, it seems humans are so reluctant to change that steam locomotives never really changed their configuration in 100 years, where were the designers? where were the bright young minds? oh, I guess thats the way it was 75 years ago so we must keep duplicating the way it was, thank goodness someone out there is thinking outside the box.

So what exactly qualifies this contraption as “GREEN”?

the inventor is named “Green”

Mr. Green must have been inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s walk; or somebody’s . . .

I can’t think of anyplace else that I’ve seen so many strange motions working (?) together . . .

…Simple it is not. Different and innovative it certainly is. Someone {Green…?}, had a wild imagination creating such a design. There is a lot of action going on in that design…all necessary too. Wildest engine design I’ve seen for some time.

wow…looks like it would vibrate alot…but I bet it’s more reliable than a Wankel gas engine (joking)

Additional information about this design seems pretty much all over the internet but I found this discussion rather helpful:

So a double meaning?

Or novel marketing technique?[;)]

Is this just a clever way to create rotation? What is the advantage besides the inventor being named, “Green”?
