I know that some who attended the Greenberg Show this weekend in Fredericksburg may disagree with me; however, I throughly enjoyed it. Many of these shows in the past have been somewhat mediocre, but I was pleasantly surprised with its quality today. I think some people I spoke to thought that more tables need to be present since the advertisement stated that there would be 250+ tables. Some thought there were much less tables than that number advertised. I thought those that who were a part of the planning and presentation process should be commended. I am sure there will be those that disagree with me and that is all right too.[:)][:)]
I thought about going but by the time I got my kids out of basketball they would have been closing. Were the prices good ? How many venders were there ? Did you find anything you were looking for ?

I went this morning. I enjoyed the show, but thought it was a little smaller this time than some of the past ones. Still they had layouts in N, HO, S, and O as well as several vendors. Some but not too much non-train stuff.
Enjoy

Greenberg is a good place to go with the wife. She per uses the toys etc while I shop for rolling stock track etc.
I thought about going, but didn’t end up going. I’ve been to a couple of Greenberg shows at Dulles, and a few Great Scale Model Train Shows at Timonium. I’ve personally preferred the ones at Timonium, but it’s about 2 hrs from where I live vice 20 minutes to Dulles. (Added bonus at the Timonium shows… MB Klein is just down the road from the venue [:)]) The last Greenberg show I attended at Dulles seemed like it was really heavy on the toy collector scene. I picked up a few mrr items, but not nearly as much as I would have gotten at one of the Timonium shows. I was curious to know if the show in Fredericksburg (~ 1 hr away) would be any better… sounds like it was about the same.
I’ll have to agree with stokesda - the Dulles Greenberg show is weighted way to heavy in the O-scale toy train end, with not enough HO there the last time I went last summer. It’s been better in the past. It takes me just over an hour and half to get to Timonium from Manassas where I live now. I just visited the Feb 1/2 Timonium show so Fredericksberg was ill timed.
It’s a shame Fredericksberg was the week after Timonium - too much to close together. With the Timonium show only the weekend before I didn’t feel like I need two back to back train shows. I imagine alot of people in the Washington DC metropolitan area which could go to either show were in a similar position - either/or but not both.
Being in HOn3, Greenberg is a non-starter for me. I have been to several Greenberg shows in Richmond and Fredricksburg and have never seen one item for HOn3. However, I still go to the local Greenberg 4 miles from my home each year, for scenics stuff and general supplies.
At the last one here in January I picked up some hobby tools and an in door RC helicopter to drive my cats nuts. So much for the train part of the show.
They do indeed cater to the larger toy train stuff in all the shows I have ever gone to. Serious scale model dealers just aren’t there the way they are at Timonium.
